Hekapad is a free text editor for Windows. Hekapad automatically saves a backup copy of the open document.
If Hekapad was not properly closed, next time it will startup, it will prompt a message with the possibility to rescue the last document. Hekapad can be set as always on top. This way you can always see it while you're using other software.
